Halloween Quiet Book Pattern & Kits

It is Wednesday and I have some Halloween Quiet Book kits all ready and listed in the shop. I've also updated the pattern with two new pages and some fresh fabrics.

 Ghost softie page and witch page

 These are the two new pages. The page on the left is a pocket that holds pumpkin face pieces. The page on the right is a pumpkin that can be 'carved' with the face pieces.

 Removeable spider page and pumpkin with finger puppet page.
The spider has poseable legs.

This includes everything to make the quiet book!

Or you can get just the pattern. Use your own fabrics and trims to make it truly one of a kind!

Happy Wednedsay...and Happy Halloween Crafting,

tutorial: Sweet Flowers Quiet Book

As promised, I have a tutorial to share with you! It has been too long since I've shared a tutorial and today it is over at the Moda Bakeshop.  I loved making this project and I loved working with the Vintage Modern fabric line. L.O.V. E. That fabric. Seriously. (I may or may not have a jelly roll and yardage squirreled away for another project.)

So here it is a fun little project that is all things flower-y, summer-y, and nature-y. It is a fun little way to use a charm pack, or any scraps for that matter.

I love the end result and I hope you do too! Head on over and check it out.

Happy Friday,

LeAnne

Updated my Colors Quiet Book Tutorial

I decided to update the tutorial for the 'my colors' quiet book, it is still available as a Google doc over at the original tutorial post. I've added some additional directions and tips and a fun cover. (What is an update without a fun cover? Loving the chevron stripes!) Also, it is applicable whether you are using your own supplies or a kit. You can find that post by clicking HERE.

Wow. Lots of posts this week!

NEW version of my Colors Quiet Book and FULL Kits

Happy Monday! Today I finished up my photos and listing for the FULL kit for a my Colors Quiet Book. Yay! I love the new font and my endless supply of scraps made one cute book.
{In my opinion. :)}

If you are new to the blog and haven't seen my tutorial to make this fun little book,
click here.

 my Colors Quiet Book Kit
What IS included:
* lettering kit with instructions of how to adhere the letters (So, you don't need to buy a lettering kit in addition to this kit.)
* felt pages
* fabric as pictured, there may be some variances per kit
* ric rac, ribbon, and lace as pictured, there may be some variances per kit
* binder ring to bind the book

What IS NOT included:
* hard copy directions to make the book
However, I will have an updated post with a few more details in the next little bit...like tonight or tomorrow.
* the actual book
* the ribbons that are tied on to the ring that holds the book together, these are props

The back cover is a little different, I used scraps of fabrics instead of more ric rac.
(So many of these fabrics bring back happy sewing memories...Puncuation, fabric from my daughter's Easter Dress, some Bliss, .... sorry tangent.)

Most kits will contain the exact fabrics and trims pictured. (I added some lace this time...fun!) There may be a few variances here and there, but for the most part what you see is what you get. I did throw in some extra ribbons and trims for some colors but I didn't include them all in my sample.

 So there you go! Hope you all like the 'updated' version. It really is a quick project. I put my sample together in an evening. (That is of course using a kit, you may need two evenings if you are cutting out your own fabrics and trims.)

If you were wondering, still have plenty of just the lettering kits. These would make a precious Christmas present! I still have a few kits left in Spanish, but they are made from the previous font.

Be back later this week with some more fun things!

Take it easy,

LeAnne

Tutorial: Color Fabric/Quiet Book

 Quiet Book Tutorial - Updated 9.22.11

The my colors Quiet Book Tutorial is available as a free pattern through Google docs. Just click on the image below to be taken to the PDF file. If you have any questions, please leave a comment or email me.

*********************************Kit Update*************************************
As of March 2012 I am no longer making the lettering or full kits to sell in my Etsy shop. I've been making these darling little kits for close to two years and am ready for some new projects. If you've ever made multiples upon multiples of the same item...you catch my drift. ;) I may occasionally whip up a few kits when clearing out my fabric stash, but that is all. (I will update this post when/if I whip up any kits.) Sorry to disappoint those who are just finding this idea! However, there are letter templates included in the above pattern or you can cut the letters out with a Cricut or Silhouette. See my tutorial here for cutting fabric with your Cricut.

Thanks for your interest! Sorry that I can't multiply myself so I could work on new projects and keep up my stock of kits....if only. (To be honest though, I'd first multiply myself to keep up with laundry, ironing, and bathrooms.) ;)

Happy Sewing,

LeAnne

Sneak Peak of Tutorial

I wanted to post the tutorial for this today, but it may not be ready until tomorrow. Really it is VERY straight forward. I decided to share how to make a Colors Quiet Book/Fabric Book with you all. Here are a few pics to preview it...

I love it! So does my little baby. It truly is very straight forward. I used nothing but fabric scraps and all those pesky little bits of ribbon and ric rac that I always wondered "What will I do with these?!" Now, you'll notice the lettering. Would anyone be interested in buying the letters? (No commitment here...just wondering if I should cut out a few sets and see.)

Anyways. Like I said, the tutorial should be up in the next few days.

I hope you all like it!
