Loving What I'm Doing...

(Thanks to you all on the previous giveaway post who left notes like 'hi' and 'I miss you'. I haven't gotten around to emailing you all back...but 'hi &I miss you too!')

Like I said earlier, August is birthday month here at Everyday Celebrations. This month is two years since I thought, 'Hmmm...I hope someone buys my stuff' as I posted my first items on Etsy.

The shop has grown and the blog has gained many a readers over the last few months. I love my little hobby that has turned into something a little more and can honestly say, 'I am loving what I'm doing.'

One of my favorite projects to date has been this little lovely...

So I thought it would be VERY appropriate to make one of these cute little books for one of you wonderful readers out there! Yay! (The completed book may be a tad different, since I use my scraps to make this book. But it will be exactly the same in every other way.)

So, I am all for simplicity.

I am finishing up a big project, for myself, and I cannot wait to show you. I made some fun 'accessories to go with it, so I hope to have those up in some tutorials to show you next week.

Here is a sneak peak...

It is a diaper bag...a little bigger than I planned. I am horrible at visualizing measurement. But I still love it. I have to do the lining and figure out how to put a zipper across the top instead of a flap.




My favorite detail... my initial. I love cursive Ls, I was so psyched to learn how to write Ls in cursive when I was little. Plus it is polka dot...:).




And oh my goodness! Have you seen this complete owl cuteness?? It is now officially on my project list. The tutorial is here.

My name is LeAnne. :) I am up to lots this summer. Moving...again, sewing loads, being with family & friends, and trying to stay as cool as possible.

Celebrate Good Times = Giveaway Time

If February had 31 days, then on that day my shop would celebrate its six month anniversary! Since there is no February 31st (that just looks weird) I decided I get to pick the day of the official six month anniversary. So since I feel like celebrating today, it is today! Wahooo!!!

The shop has kind of blogged my mind in the fact that I actually have sold things. I remember writing an email to my mom with the exact words "I hope I sell something". In 6 months I have gained 123 hearts, 32 sales - not counting off Etsy sales, done a show, and have sewed whenever I can get a chance. I still love it and I am so happy that my hobby is something that is both enjoyable and practical.

So without further adieu...my gift in celebration to one lucky person is the pattern to my Numbers Quiet Book! It will be emailed in a PDF to you!

Jolly Old St Nicholas....and a itty bitty giveaway

...lean your ear this way...tell about the new quiet book LeAnne made today! So ya...that last part didn't actually fit in with the rest of the song, but I get credit for trying; right?

So one last Christmas Quiet Book. This is the first of my "mini" books I hope to make. I also will be making a pattern/kit so you can make your own! I hope I can get it done in the next few days so I could sell some this season.

Quilt Giveaway...My Giveaway...Things to Come

There is this radical (did I just use radical?) quilt giveaway here. I am in love with that quilt and the colors...so fall...so sweet. It makes me want to change my favorite color from red to yellow. That road with the leaves and the chair...ohhh...I so want to go there.

I will be back hopefully today, crossing my fingers, with some new items for the shop. All I can say is...it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in my sewing corner. (I am a living testimony that you don't need a fancy studio to create beautiful things. My tiny apartment's kitchen goes from kitchen table to sewing studio extraordinaire in a matter of minutes.)
