Kim Beatty said...What's not to love about October?! It's my favorite time of year - we're full-swing into fall, our anniversary is the 12th (8 years this year), Halloween...then it's on to Thanksgiving and Christmas! I am addicted to pumpkin - coffee, cheesecake, bars, cookies, whoopie pies - you name it, I'll scarf it down as long as it's got pumpkin in it!
I love to decorate for the holidays, and Halloween is always a great time to kick that off!

  1. Thanks for the cool patterns. I always look forward to little treat monsters. I always put up a sign that states "Ring bell to summons the hounds of hell or take a treat and have a snack to eat." It almost always works to prevent the animals from going crazy.

  2. Ooh those are to die for lol. Get it? Halloween? To die for?? Oh, not fun huh. Well, I can't say pumpkin bars but I can say Pumpkin Cheesecake! I am having fun this year as my son just turned 3 and I am making his costume this year. I got brave I think. he is going to be a robot and I hope it turns out as good as it looks in my head ;) I would love to win!!

  5. Congratulations on your Moda Bake shop Post. You are such a domestic diva to get three fabulous useful things out of one jelly roll and some black fabric. Halloween is not that big in Australia although I celebrate it on my front lawn with the neighbours kids. We all dress up as scary monsters, eat lots of lollies and then go up and down the street trying to smooze our neighbours into giving us more lollies. Hee Hee.

  7. Thanks for the chance to win one of these great bags. I know my daughter will like it. I made her a trick-or-treat bag last year (very cute if I say so myself). One problem though, it wasn't big enough for her liking. It was the size of a small tote bag and, or course, that did not hold enough candy for her. So, she would love your halloween totes. Thanks again.

p.s. Paula Deen's Pumpkin Butter Gooey Cake is to die for!!!

  11. Great patterns! October is my favorite month also. I love the crispness in the air. The colors and the feelings of Fall are amazing to me. Also, like you said it is the start of a big Holiday season. It's just a wonderful time.

  12. Thanks for the giveaway! I'll confess, as a kid I HATED Halloween. Dressing up, ringing doorbells to say "trick or treat" to get candy. But being the oldest kid, I had to dress up and take the other two! Oh, what fun!
Now, I love Halloween. Loved dressing my kids up when they were little, getting the house ready..maybe because I"m older and wiser!
    Where's the candy kids?

  16. What an awesome tutorial! LOVE the wall hangings!

I love Halloween more and more each year. I have 3 boys (4, 2 and 9 months) and it's been fun to see them get into the holiday spirit. My house is currently decorated with more bats, ghosts and pumpkins than any one house should have, but my boys LOVE to color and draw! Thanks for the chance!

  19. Love your ideas here. We are finally living back in the US and gearing up for Halloween here - going to pumpkin patches, fall tours, and making a princess costume. Trying to think of something fun to post - we are watching Mary Poppins and took several walks in our neighborhood with our dog (and two leashes since my 4 year old likes to walk the dog with her own leash).

  25. I need to win...I am the girl that gets in the holiday spirit a few weeks before the holiday, loves all the fabric in the shop and buys a ton then never finishes the project. You inspire me and I hope to finish a halloween bag prior to halloween!

  26. Congrats on these great patterns. I would love one of these bags for my grandson. Holidays are for children and I treasure the fun and excitement in their little eyes when they spot the Halloween pumpkins, Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas trees - so precious. I am with you on the pumpkin bars - so yummy.

  30. Aww, the pressure....
I have to say I live in Texas, not alot of fall colors.. But, it is cooler! Dairy Queen starts selling Pumpkin Pie Blizzards, MY favorite and responsible for at least 10 pounds on my body. Right now my son plays football, so it's what I look forward to all week!
Great job on your Bake Shop projects!

  36. My friend Bronny really needs one of these. She's going through a 'weenie' stage and I think she needs just a little bit more Halloween. For an Australian, she really has gone gaga (funny how that's a Lady's name) for 'weenie'.

Here's her blog- see for yourself-

  39. I LOVE your awesome patterns! Hum....what do I love about October? EVERYTHING! It is absolutely my favorite time of year, I love the coolness in the air, the smell of the leaves, the colors, the pumpkins (and all of the yummy things I can bake w/ pumpkin!)...I could go on and on! Oh, and football is in full swing in October! lol

  40. Love the totes! Halloween is the best time because adults are allowed to play dress up!! This year is even better because the baby is fun to dress too :)

  41. I know some people think spring is the best time to clean. I disagree! I think fall is the best time. When it is spring, all I want to do is be outside. I could care less if my house is a mess. In the fall, my home is my haven. I know that I will be cooped up for 6 months, so I better get it in order.

    Total random fact...YES! I hope I win!

  42. Hi
I came via Moda Bakeshop - congratulations, great recipe
Halloween isn't as big here in the UK as it seems to be in the US and pumpkin doesn't feature much at all in recipes except pumpkin soup

  43. Next to Christmas, Halloween is the best time of the year! When else can you dress up?! Um, never! Who can say no to dressing up...besides my husband ;)
And the parties! The colors! The crisp leaves you go out of your way to crunch just to hear the noise it makes!...maybe that's just me.

  44. Those bags are so cute! I love the fall. I love that it gets colder so I can make soup as often as I want (my hubby doesn't like soup on hot days). I love the beautiful colors. Your pumpkin bars reminded me to mention that this is the perfect time of year for pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.
